"A vital individual vitalizes the society, so wrote Joe Campbell. Joe himself was vitality personfied, but for many, question is: when are we considered vital and when non-vital. Society many times mounts immense challenges upon those who live with vitality, and these obstacles deter many others to live a vital life." World Citizen 86 0 August 12th, 2012
"One of the ways of getting people to relax is by telling a story. AT my JC (R) Mythological RT, I found that telling the stories that Joseph Campbell told and wrote in his books, was something much appreciated by many. So, today I came up with an idea of compiling a bookd of stories as told by Joe Campbell&#;&#;with my personal notes as additional stories&#;What do you folks think&#;" World Citizen 86 1 August 9th, 2012
"In my family and I partited in an event called Hands Across America and the idea was for people to join hands at a certain time and day across the country. People as far as I could see stood together shoulder to shoulder and joined hands along Route 45 in Frankfort IL, a tiny spot in a huge country and an even smaller spot in the world. I think of that day today and feel that now, more than ever, we need to join hands around the world as one. Raise ours hands together to celebrate our humanity and see in how many ways we are so much alike." World Citizen 66 0 August 3rd, 2012
"I live in a world that is organized. By the grace of human intelligence and serious work, the structures and insutions in my life usually function with efficiency and make life a wonder to behold and enjoy. Until they don&#;t work, and then the joy gives way to difficulty and morphs into pain, suffering and grief. Life experience narrows and threatens to stop. On a good day, I rise to the challenge, resolve and cope until I become tired and I sleep. In the morning, all is new. When this unfortunate series of events is not happening to me, it is happening to someone who is just like me. Reducing the risk of this happening is often on my mind. I want us all to be safe, well and happy until the music fades." World Citizen 52 0 August 3rd, 2012
"I was reading Malthus today. It occurred that as gloomy as his theory is that we are heading in that direction if we really don&#;t learn to share.&#;Thomas Malthus argued that because of the natural human urge to reproduce human population increases geometrically (1, 2, 4, 16, 32, 64, , , etc.). However, food supply, at most, can only increase arithmetically (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc.). Therefore, since food is an essential component to human life, population growth in any area or on the planet, if unchecked, would lead to starvation. However, Malthus also argued that there are preventative checks and positive checks on population that slow its growth and keep the population from rising exponentially for too long, but still, poverty is inescapable and will continue.&#; Is it compionate to control population?"
